Julia’s Review:

We decided to go here because we read that they had been given 5 stars and was voted the best pizza place by all of the locals.  And we thought it was interesting that their name was Chicago’s Best when they are so far from Chicago.  Now I didn’t go and try all of the competitors pizzas to see how they compare but I personally wouldn’t give this a 5 star rating.  The place definitely had some charm and was a little “worn in” but we don’t want to give reviews on buildings.  We want to give reviews on pizza!  The pizzas took a little while and we were pretty hungry and looking forward to these pizzas.  When they arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find that, although they were round pizzas, they were sliced in squares.  We had fun eating it like that.  I felt that the crust was nice in that it was a thicker crust, but the crust was fairly dense which made you really have to chew at it. Also, they were REALLY greasy!  When I tilted my pizza to the side, a bunch of the grease ran off the surface creating a little grease puddle on my plate.  I would say the flavor was enjoyable even with the dense crust and grease puddles and I think the presentation of the pizza was nice as well.  I am having a hard time rating this pizza because I think it is truly better than average but I was a little disappointed in the texture and flavor of the crust.  I think a big part of their top ratings are probably because of the community’s love of their business and you can’t argue with that! :)  I give this pizza 3.5 stars.

Jake’s Review:

When we arrived in Estes, we were in the mood for pizza. I opened Urbanspoon and locked it to my usual category, pizza. Chicago’s best showed up as the best pizza. We all decided to try it. The place has a very local flavor. It is clear that it is where the locals go. The pizza itself was average. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t something I’d like to repeat. We even ordered two different pizzas and both were about the same as far as quality. There is nothing wrong with the pizza. It is decent. However, it certainly could be better, especially for the price. The store itself was decently clean.
